About Maui

Cold in Chicago. Warm on Maui.

There is a reason we go there. And it is more than the temperature difference.

• During multiple visits over the years and spending part of the winter each year, we agree with the island phrase in Hawiian - "Maui nō ka ʻ oi" (Maui is the best).

• Today I give travel presentations on many destinations, but one that stands out is "Maui - more than leis and luaus".  Like many of my travel presentations this one is in far greater depth than a "typical" travelogue.  The main difference here is that the presentation is a blend of all those years and covers aspects of the island not generally known by most people including those who have already traveled to Maui.  While it is a travel presentation, it also contains some geography, geology, history, culture, and information that your typical tourist would not know.
• I am a life member of Maui - Friends of the Library, have a Hawaiian state library card and try to learn more about Hawaii and Maui on each of my visits.
